Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have been hailed as ‘future world stars’ by Arsenal teammate Emiliano Martinez, who expects the starts to rise to the very top of the game. The young duo have both enjoyed breakthrough seasons for the Gunners, and have been rewarded by their impressive performances with new long-term deals. getty Saka and Martinelli are two of Arsenal’s brightest young talents It’s been quite a week for academy star Saka, who said he was ‘living a dream’ by signing a new contract with the club, and then marked it by scoring his first Premier League goal in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Wolves. The 18-year-old then followed that up with a crucial assist in their 1-1 draw with top-four rivals Leicester City on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Martinelli – who quoted club icon Tony Adams as he put pen to paper of his deal – has been one of Arsenal’s surprise stars this term. The 19-year-old Brazilian is Arsenal’s third-best goal provider this season with ten goals and four assists so far, only behind talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang [23 goals, two assists] and club record signing Nicolas Pepe [eight goals, eight assists]. Their attitude and temperament has earned praise from Invincibles legend Martin Keown, who told talkSPORT they could teach Matteo Guendouzi a thing or two about being humble. And Gunners goalkeeper Martinez has also lavished praise on the young duo, saying they are destined for the very top. Saka and Martinelli have both enjoyed brilliant breakthrough seasons in an Arsenal shirt “I’m telling you, Saka and Martinelli are the future stars, not just for the Arsenal, but in the Premier League and in the world,” said the glovesman, speaking exclusively to talkSPORT. “They’re willing to listen, they do extra work away from the training ground, they get on with everyone in the club and when they’re on the field they do different stuff. “They are different class. “If they put it in their mind that they can be the best, they can reach that. Adrian Durham says Martinelli and Lacazatte are ready-made replacements for Aubameyang “Saka can be in the England team already, he’s the kind of player you need in your team. “It’s not just about how much he gives you [on the pitch], he’s very positive and even with the top, experienced players that have been around, there are not many players like him. “He’s a team player. I could give him my gloves and he would perform in goal, that’s Saka. I’m a bit worried, actually!” Listen to a clip of Emiliano Martinez on talkSPORT above!,
