Four staff members of ZEFA Microfinance Bank have been arrested after allegedly pushing a debtor’s wife, which led to her death.

The incident occurred when the bank workers visited the debtor’s house to ask for payment of a loan, but were told that the man was not at home. Unsatisfied with the woman’s explanation, they began to pack electronics from the house, which was resisted by the deceased.

In the ensuing struggle, one of the bank workers allegedly pushed the woman, causing her to fall and become unconscious.

She was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival. The suspects have been transferred to the Homicide Section of the state Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
