The Lagos-Ibadan expressway, which is one of the busiest highways in Nigeria, has been under construction for several years. However, the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has announced that the project will be completed by April 2023.
The Governor made this announcement during a meeting with the contractors handling the project. He stated that the contractors have committed to completing the project within the stipulated time frame.
The Lagos-Ibadan expressway has been plagued by traffic gridlock, which has caused significant delays and inconvenience for commuters. The completion of the project is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve travel time between Lagos and Ibadan.
The project is being executed by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc and Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) Nigeria Limited, under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing.
The announcement of the completion date for the Lagos-Ibadan expressway is a welcome development for commuters and businesses in Nigeria. The completion of the project will not only ease traffic congestion but also improve economic activities in the region.
