DSS Confirms Suspended CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele is in Custody ~ NewsEdge

The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed that the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, is now in its custody for investigative reasons.

The announcement was made via the agency’s Twitter handle on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

President Bola Tinubu suspended Emefiele from office with immediate effect on Friday night and directed him to hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), Adebisi Shonubi.
