Private School Owners Consider Tuition Hike Following Fuel Subsidy Removal ~ NewsEdge
The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools has revealed that private schools may increase tuition fees in order to counter the effects of the recent fuel subsidy removal.
The National President of the Association, Yomi Otubela, made this known during a virtual dialogue on Thursday.
Otubela stated that the cost of running private schools had become unbearable for many members even before the removal of fuel subsidy.
The high cost of goods and services, transportation, running generators, and other educational needs has become very expensive.
The association noted that subsidy removal is not a totally bad idea but the provision of palliatives to cushion the effect of its removal would have been a welcome idea, so as to lessen the burden on their members.
