WAEC Cancels Manual Confirmation of Certificates for WASSCE Candidates ~ NewsEdge
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the cancellation of manual confirmation or stamping of certificates for candidates who took the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) from 1999 to date. In a statement released by the council, the decision was made to switch to the newly introduced WAEC Digital Certificate Platform, which provides a more seamless and timely mode of availing stakeholders of their candidates’ certificates.
According to the statement, the WAEC Digital Certificate Platform allows candidates to access, download, and share their original WAEC certificates, while institutions and organizations can promptly and securely confirm the certificates of candidates. The council further stated that efforts are underway to expand the platform to accommodate candidates from 1980, and updates will be provided to the public as they become available.
This move by WAEC is a significant step towards digitalization and will undoubtedly make the certificate confirmation process faster and more convenient for all stakeholders involved.
