Facebook has launched Facebook Business Suite. It is basically a way for enterprises to manage their business presence across Instagram, Messenger and Facebook. It is presently available globally for small businesses but will be accessible to larger businesses over the coming years.

This is not the first app introduced by Facebook which offers cross-platform content management. Pages Manager and Creator Studio already provide similar functionalities. The Facebook Business Suite is more important, however, because Facebook plans to make it the main interface for managing business accounts across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Whatsapp.

The announcement read in part, “We’re building Facebook Business Suite for small businesses first, but this is a long-term investment to make this the main interface for businesses of all sizes who use Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp.”

The present rollout does not integrate Whatsapp Business accounts yet. But the company said Whatsapp management will be added to the business suite as well over time. When this happens, it will make the suite the only app that allows content management across all of the major communication channels owned by Facebook till date.

This makes it a platform to take very seriously.

The suite’s inbox allows you to receive and attend to messages, notifications and alerts from Instagram and Facebook in one place, meaning you do not have to separately access the two apps before responding to customers.

Analytics tab in Facebook Business SuiteYou can post to both platforms from the suite as well as manage the post’s activity. It provides an analytics tab that allows you to get a full overview of your Instagram and Facebook performance in one place. This makes it much easier to compare strategies for both accounts.

The simplicity it brings to content management for businesses and Facebook’s long term plans for it makes the Facebook Business Suite valuable for businesses.
